A Country Affair

18th September 2013

Reuben and Estelle married at the Larchfield Estate with both reception and service held in the estates renovated barn. Estelle shares how they planned the day.

“We wanted a relaxed wedding with no fuss. The venue was perfect for a small and private wedding. We wanted our day to be fun and relaxed with friends and family. As we are both quite creative we decorated the venue ourselves with bunting that a friend had made, teacup candles, lots of photos from our Engagement shoot with Blackbox, and lots of flowers. Most things were homemade!

We had lots of favourite features. We collected china in the lead up to the wedding and had Afternoon Tea instead of a formal dinner. We had as many of our friends involved as possible; talented musicians made up a band for the service, and others entertained guests in the gardens.

A friend made all the bunting and table clothes. Another friend did all the flowers. They were presented in buckets and in old Coca-Cola bottles. We wanted the flowers to reflect the relaxed country feel of the day. There was a mix of colours and types of flowers. It was beautiful. We painted an old dresser and filled it with lots of sweets for people to help themselves. The 'sweety stall' went down well!
