Michael and Corinne created a grow your own wedding for their stunning day. Corinne talks through the style for the day.
"We had a ‘Grow Your Own Wedding’! From the food to the flowers it was very personalised. Having worked at Darina Allen’s Ballymaloe Cookery School in Co. Cork, the food was a very important part of the wedding reception for both of us. The obvious choice was to ask a group of our friends, all chefs from Ballymaloe, who run ‘Wildside Catering’ to cater for our wedding. All the produce was organic, and sourced from Co. Cork. For the main course we had locally sourced fillet & sirloin of East Cork beef, which was cooked on a spitroast over beech logs, and lots of delicious local organic ingredients. I grew most of the flowers, which included lots of sweet pea, cosmos and love in the mist.
Our venue was at Castletown House, which is Michael’s family home. It was a very easy decision as not only it is extremely meaningful; it is also situated in one of the most stunning locations surrounded by rolling fields and beautiful flowers.
