"Although abstract in form, my paintings are most often seen as landscapes, capturing as they do, the essence or emotional significance I attach to a particular place or time.”

‘While my influences are broad, my work is largely concerned with the natural world and our place in it.

Colour and cogency are key concerns in my painting which tend towards the voluminous in composition. My many influences include Joash Woodrow, Turner, Gerhard Richter and Kurt Jackson. Although none so much as the natural world itself. Poets and their work are also a key influence, I often use poetry by way of explanation, as a means into and around
my work…..”
