Fashion illustrator & style consultant Dallas Shaw has worked with some of the big names in the fashion industry. ROCO talks to her about fashion, illustration and her newly designed office.
HOW DID YOU GET INTO THE WORLD OF ILLUSTRATION?
I was never not in the world of illustration. I have been drawing my whole life, and knew I wanted to be an artist at a very young age. I majored in illustration in college and now own my own business in fashion illustration and style consulting.
WHERE DO YOU FIND INSPIRATION?
The fashion and style industry. I am very lucky that every day of my life I find myself surrounded by beautiful things, each project seems to inspire several new ones.
WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY INVOLVE?
Depends on the project. Some projects are day projects - some projects are months long. In general I get up at 5-6 am and answer emails, follow up on paperwork and proposals and by 9 I am drawing. I spend the majority of my days illustrating my clients’ visions, and the other half of my time developing projects. To read the full article on Dallas Shaw subscribe today to our magazine and receive 25% discount including access to all past issues.
