Intimate City Style

18th September 2013

Stephen and Julia’s wedding was an intimate celebration and theme for this unique and thoughtful wedding. Julia talks us through the style for the day.

"We got married in Willowfield Parish Church in Belfast on the 10th October 2011. In the run up to the wedding I was getting more and more panicked at the idea of walking up the aisle and having everybody looking at me as I am quite shy in big crowds of people. Thankfully Stephen and our families and friends (and minister!) were willing to let us have a private service. I thought I would be really nervous on the day but we were both really relaxed. It made the day all the more special as it was just Stephen, myself, the Rector David McClay and our photographers, Xander and Christine from Navyblur who acted as our witnesses. In my mind it kept this the real focus of the day and by having no guests I think it reminded us both, as born again Christians, of how important Jesus is in our marriage as the main witness and guest.

From the start neither of us wanted to get carried away and end up spending money on things that weren't important to us. We didn't want to have our reception in a hotel, as we didn't really feel it suited us. We had lunch with about 55 close friends and family at Made In Belfast Cathedral Quarter restaurant.
